You know you're at a black folks wedding when...

...The minister begins the ceremony asking people not to put gum on the pews....The bride is over an hour and a half late....More than one guest is wearing leopard print....All the groomsmen wear sunglasses walking down the aisle....The cell phones keep playing club music during the reading of the scriptures....The Groom keeps asking to kiss the Bride during the entire ceremony....The Groomsmen add doorags to the get-up when being introduced at the reception....People ask for more food in the buffet line....The reception turns into a night club and the bar is like 30 people deep.We had a great time. When we got there, my sis was looking for her scripture reading. She thought it was JOhn 4:6-16, but the verses were about a woman asking God for a husband, when she was cheating with a married man...or something crazy like that. So I told her she must have written the wrong verse down and to read something else,...you can never go wrong with the verse from I Corinthians..love is patient, love is kind...well turns out someone else is reading that...so my pops saves the day...he looks at us and says try the book of Johns right before Revelations...who knew there were other gospels of John...sure nuf we found John I 4:6-16 about love and finding love and blah, blah...so lesson learned, always keep your parents handy and start paying more attention in church! If I can figure out how...I'll add a few pics from the wedding later...off to go study for my finals...stay well

I have a wedding to go to at 4pm today. I am so through with weddings. Can you pls just show me the pics after the fact. This should be fun to watch though..supposedly 200 ppl were invited and you know black folk...everyone wants to go to this wedding, so i'm sure 300 ppl will show...well my sister is very good friends with the bride and by association she became one of my girlfriends too. Anways my sister found out like 1/2 hr ago that she has to do a scripture reading during the service. She's on the cell phone, while making faces at me rolling her eyes, while trying to figure out where she supposed to sit, when she's supposed to go to the pulpit, etc. TOO FUNNY! If you only knew how anal retentive my sis is..she gotta have like 2 years advance notice on anything and now she has to get in front of a ton of people and read at the wedding..i'm goin just to see that shit. So she just calls me and asks if I have a Shania Twain CD...say what? I say "are you kidding" and she says she has to run to the store to buy it cause the first dance is going to be "From this Moment" This had me rolling...they don't have the cd for their first dance? Did they order food for the multitudes showing up for this grand occasion? I heard they got the liquor months ago...priorities!...well this is yet another reason I can't study for my finals..but this should be a blast to watch..gotta go get ready..oh, did i mention that I have to go to this thing by myself! well my sis and dad and his wife will be there..but E is taking some mortgage class and I'll be there without my husband..ah well...let the good times roll....

saw stealth this weekend...cmon Jamie..you need to be the lead man now...after Ray you can't go getting yourself killed mid-way through the movie..you supposed to be top dogg now..oscar and all...how often you see Will Smith or Denzel take roles where the computer is the leading man and they get killed 1/2 way through...cmon Jamie...think big things bro, big things...lemme give Jamie his props though- nice, nice abs and arms! so, all was relatively peaceful this weekend...loved the cosmos and low cal beers (ha) shared with my pimptress girlfriend over gossip. Lab countdown

have org chem lab in a minute and i'm dreading going...i hate chem labs! I always think i'm gonna be the first to set the bldg on fire...and they have the nerve to tell you the shit we workin with is toxic, corrosive, flammable, etc and then want you to feel comfortable handling it..especially when the person next to you is breaking and spilling shit all over the place...urrrggghhhh....good thing i got fire safety training so I know how to use an extinguisher (ha)- that would be the fun part of starting a fire. I could jump on the lab table and spray everything down like a superhero or somethin...alright just trippin...off I go...pls let me not drop, break, set fire to, or anything bizarre like that today...hope to see hustle and flow at the drive in tonite...we'll see...usually don't get to see much of the movie at the drive in...all in a good nites work...lol

yes yes..the genetics exam was a piece of cake..i love classes over the summer when the professors bend all the rules and just make shit easy on everyone. I was done in like 20 minutes so I laughed myself out the door and straight to the mall. I need jeans! I can't seem to find a pair i like...usually jeans are just jeans for me, but i actually want a pair that I like and that make me feel good...must be all these songs artists are writing about jeans now...i want the john legend cd..i heard it was good...mmm...i've been spending a fortune recently..all kinds of shit for shy for school. oh well...i cant believe the summer is flying by...i want it to stand still for a minute so I can soak everything up. I'm excited about teaching again. I miss the classroom. I know how hectic everything will be and I'm not looking forward to that drama just yet. When am I going to fit a vacation in here? and where's the $$$ gonna come from??? hmmm

Boring Hair

Today I'm going to join all the boring people with dk brown hair. The last few months I put my hair through hell, so it's time to leave it alone (no more blonde) and to join the masses of people with boring hair colors...ah well...i have a genetics exam tonite which i haven't studied for yet..its at 5pm and every day for the last week i've been postponing studying thinking in my head that there's still time. I am so incredibly lazy over the summer with school. If I can somehow squeeze a B out of Org Chem II and A in lab and Gentics I'll have to get down on my knees and thank the good Lord. I haven't had a B in 2 years but there's always room for one or two on the transcript, right? I found a school for G to go to. Its really nice and like $24 a day...I can afford that for 2-3 days a week and he's going to love being around other kids...I'm not sure how i'll reach equilibrium within my heart considering all the craziness I've been going through as of late, but i feel ready to get off of the roller coaster and to find stable ground for a while...the thrill ride must come to an end, right? well, its refreshing to be posting again...i've not been writing or been making some entries private, but its nice to vent and record shit.
